National Health Commission Update on February 05, 2020

From 00:00 to 23:59, February 04, 2020, the National Health Commission (NHC) received confirmed reports from 31 provincial-level administrative divisions (PLADs) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corp (XPCC) of novel coronavirus-infected pneumonia (NCIP). A total of 24,324 cases were confirmed in China (of which Hainan Province have reexamined and reduced the number of reports by 1) including 3,219 severe cases and 490 deaths. A total of 892 patients have recovered and have been discharged (of which Hainan and Hubei provinces have reexamined and reduced the number of reports by 1, respectively). An additional total of 23,260 suspected cases were reported.

On this day, 3,887 new cases (3,156 in Hubei Province) were confirmed in 31 PLADs and XPCC including 431 new severe cases (377 in Hubei Province), and 65 new deaths (65 in Hubei Province). A total of 262 new patients (125 in Hubei Province) have recovered and have been discharged. Furthermore, 3,971 new suspected cases (1,957 in Hubei Province) were reported.

The NHC has received confirmed reports including a total of 18 in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China (1 death), 10 in Macau Special Administrative Region, China, and 11 in Taiwan, China.

Currently, 252,154 close contacts have been followed-up with, 18,457 have been released from medical observation, and 185,555 are still under medical observation.
