National Health Commission Update on February 04, 2020

From 00:00 to 23:59, February 03, 2020, the National Health Commission (NHC) received confirmed reports from 31 provincial-level administrative divisions (PLADs) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corp (XPCC) of novel coronavirus-infected pneumonia (NCIP). A total of 20,438 cases were confirmed in China (of which Heilongjiang Province have reexamined and reduced the number of reports by 2) including 2,788 severe cases and 425 deaths. A total of 632 patients have recovered and have been discharged. An additional total of 23,214 suspected cases were reported.

On this day, 3,235 new cases (2,345 in Hubei Province) were confirmed in 31 PLADs and XPCC including 492 new severe cases (442 in Hubei Province), and 64 new deaths (64 in Hubei Province). A total of 157 new patients (101 in Hubei Province) have recovered and have been discharged. Furthermore, 5,072 new suspected cases (3,182 in Hubei Province) were reported.

The NHC has received confirmed reports including a total of 15 in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China, 8 in Macau Special Administrative Region, China, and 10 in Taiwan, China.

Currently, 221,015 close contacts have been followed-up with, 12,755 have been released from medical observation, and 171,329 are still under medical observation.
