National Health Commission Update on February 08, 2020

From 00:00 to 23:59, February 07, 2020, the National Health Commission (NHC) received confirmed reports from 31 provincial-level administrative divisions (PLADs) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corp (XPCC) of novel coronavirus-infected pneumonia (NCIP). A total of 34,546 cases were confirmed in China (of which Heilongjiang Province have reexamined and reduced the number of reports by 14), including 6,101 severe cases and 722 deaths. A total of 2,050 patients have recovered and have been discharged. An additional total of 27,657 suspected cases were reported.

On this day, 3,399 new cases were confirmed in 31 PLADs and XPCC (2,841 in Hubei Province) including 1,280 new severe cases (1,193 in Hubei Province), 86 new deaths (81 in Hubei Province, 2 in Heilongjiang Province, 1 in Beijing Municipality, 1 in Henan Province, and 1 in Gansu Province). A total of 510 new patients have recovered and have been discharged (298 in Hubei Province). Furthermore, 4,214 new suspected cases were reported (2,073 in Hubei Province).

The NHC has received confirmed reports including a total of 26 in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China (1 death), 10 in Macau Special Administrative Region, China (1 recovered and have been discharged), and 16 in Taiwan, China (1 recovered and have been discharged).

Currently, 345,498 close contacts have been followed-up with, 26,702 have been released from medical observation, and 189,660 are still under medical observation.
